No. 10 UConn Field Hockey Slips Past Harvard 1-0

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. (September 20, 2006) - Junior Lizzy Peijs (Venlo, Holland) scored the game’s only goal at 19:52 to give the No. 10 University of Connecticut field hockey team a 1-0 win at Harvard on Wednesday night.
With the win the Huskies improve to 6-2 overall while the Crimson fall to 0-6 following the loss. Connecticut increases its lead against Harvard in the all-time series to 24-4-2.
Peijs’ goal, which marked her team-best sixth of the season, was set up by sophomore Lauren Aird (Harare, Zimbabwe).
For the game, UConn out-shot Harvard 13-3 and attempted 12 penalty corners while limiting the Crimson to two attempts.
The Huskies return to action on Saturday, Sept. 23 when they travel to Amherst, Mass., to take on Massachusetts beginning at 3:00 p.m. (ET).
