Women's Tennis Conclude Fall Season at ITA Regional Championships

DARTMOUTH, N.H. (October 23, 2006) - The University of Connecticut women's tennis team finished up the fall season by competing at the ITA Regional Championships hosted by Dartmouth this weekend.
Senior Christine Burek (Wheaton, Ill.) received a bye in the first round of singles. She then faced Olga Votavoya of Syracuse and fell 6-1, 6-4.
In doubles action, sophomore BreAnn Cheung (Tucson, Ariz.) and freshman Kelley LoRusso (Shoreham, N.Y.) teamed up for the Huskies. In the first round, they defeated Emily Lewis and Melissa Lewis from Drexel 8-6 before falling to Princeton's No.8 Ivana King and Melissa Saiontz 8-2.
UConn will be back in action for the spring season in early February.
