Boston College Bests UConn, 6-1

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. (March 30, 2005) - Boston College topped the University of Connecticut women's tennis team by a score of 6-1 on Wednesday afternoon at the Flynn Recreation Complex on the BC campus. The Huskies are now 2-9 this spring and 0-4 against BIG EAST teams.
The Eagles swept through doubles play and took five of six singles matches in the win. The lone UConn point was secured in a win by senior Jen LoRusso (Reading, Pa.) who defeated Nida Waseem, 7-6 (2), 2-6, 10-4. The singles victory was LoRusso's second in as many days and third straight.
The Huskies will next play host to Georgetown on April 2 at 2:30 p.m. The dual match is the first UConn women's tennis home event this season and will be played at the Bloomfield Racquet Club.
