Huskies Fall to Syracuse in BIG EAST Action

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (March 24, 2005) - The University of Connecticut women's tennis team was defeated by Syracuse by a score of 6-1 on Thursday evening in Syracuse, N.Y. The Huskies are now 2-6 in the spring season.
Winning the lone UConn point was sophomore Christine Burek (Wheaton, Ill.) at No. 4. She battled SU's Carolina Huignard, taking the match 7-6, 6-0, 1-0 (6). The Orange topped UConn in the five other singles matches and was also victorious in the three doubles matches for the doubles point.
UConn faces another BIG EAST opponent on Friday, March 25 when the Huskies take on West Virginia in Syracuse, N.Y.
