Women's Tennis Falls to DePaul

STORRS, Conn. (February 5, 2005) - The University of Connecticut women's tennis team opened their spring season with a 7-0 defeat at the hands of DePaul in Storrs, Conn., on Saturday, Feb. 5.
The Blue Demons swept the three doubles matches for the doubles point. DePaul then was victorious in all six singles matches. Sophomore Christine Burek was defeated by Bojana Murisic after winning the first set, 3-6, 6-1, 10-8. Senior Barbara Schumsky also fell in a tight match, 6-4, 7-6 (5), to DePaul's Brenda Leung.
The women's tennis team will next travel to West Point, N.Y., for three matches on February 19-20. The Huskies will face Binghamton on Saturday at 4:00 p.m., and then play Army at 9:00 a.m. and Air Force at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday.
