Women's Tennis Defeated by Binghamton, 5-2

WEST POINT, N.Y. (February 19, 2005) - The University of Connecticut women's tennis team was defeated by a score of 5-2 by Binghamton on Saturday afternoon in West Point, N.Y. The Huskies are now 0-2 in dual matches this spring.
Sophomore Christine Burek (Wheaton, Ill.) and senior Jen LoRusso (Shoreham, N.Y.) won the two UConn points in the match. LoRusso, competing in the No. 2 singles spot, defeated BU's Lya Kushnirovich by scores of 6-4, 6-1. Burek topped Jennifer Naegeli, 6-1, 6-3 in the No. 4 match.
Burek and LoRusso combined to also win their doubles match, defeating Jelena Koprivica and Alyssa Freeman of Binghamton, 8-4.
The Huskies will compete against Army and Air Force Sunday in West Point, N.Y.
