Schuerman Added To MLS Combine

NEW YORK, N.Y. (December 15, 2005) - Adam Schuerman (Brookfield, Wis.) has been added to the list of players participating in next month’s Major League Soccer combine, becoming the third University of Connecticut men’s soccer players to be invited from this senior class. The senior goalkeeper will join teammates Willis Forko (Houston, Texas) and Mpho Moloi (Soweto, South Africa) as top collegiate prospects for the 2006 MLS SuperDraft that will compete in the combine at The Home Depot Center in Carson, California from January 12-15, 2006.
Schuerman finished his four-year career with the Huskies as the all-time leader in shutouts with 38 and second in wins (51). A Third Team All-New England selection, he played and started in all 21 games, earning a goals against average of 0.56 and a 0.815 save percentage, while tallied 53 saves. Bolstering one of the top defenses in the country, Schuerman allowed just nine goals in the regular season and 12 overall and posted 14 shutouts, with four coming in the postseason.
