Two Field Hockey Players Honored with All-America Selection

STORRS, Conn. (November 25, 2005) - The University of Connecticut field hockey team had two players named to the 2005 Dartfish/NFHCA Division I All-America list, as announced earlier this week. Senior Laura Puddle (London, England) was chosen for second-team honors, while senior Rebecca Helwig (Basking Ridge, N.J.) represented the Huskies on the third team.
Puddle finished the season tied for fifth place nationally with her team-high 15 assists.
Helwig concluded her final season with 12 goals and five assists combining for second on the team in points with 29. In addition, she tallied a team-high four defensive saves.
Most recently, Puddle and Helwig were named to the NFHCA Mideast First Team. This was Puddle's second consecutive first-team selection and the third consecutive selection for Helwig.
