Kaitlyn Shain Named To Hockey East Honor Roll

WAKEFIELD, Mass. (Oct. 24) - University of Connecticut women's ice hockey senior Kaitlyn Shain (Calgary, Alberta) was named to the Hockey East Honor Roll as announced by the league office on Monday. It was the third consecutive week that Shain received recognition for her play as she had been Defensive Player of the Week the previous two weeks.
Against Maine on Saturday, the senior goaltender stopped 28 of the 29 shots that she faced in the Huskies 1-0 overtime loss. For the season, Shain leads all Hockey East goalies with a .99 goals against average and a .970 save percentage against league opponents. She has stopped 105 of the 110 shots that she has faced in all three of the Huskies games this season.
UConn will next be in action on Saturday, Oct. 29 when they host Yale in the Mark Edward Freitas Ice Forum. The game is the second of three games of the Nutmeg Classic between UConn, Yale and Quinnipiac.
