Huskies Announce 2004-05 Schedule

STORRS, CT (June 30) -- Head coach Heather Linstad has announced the University of Connecticut women's ice hockey team's schedule for the 2004-05 season. The Huskies will square off with eight of the RPI's (rating percentage index) top-12 teams next season.
The Huskies will open up regular season action with a two game series against No. 4 St. Lawrence in Storrs. St. Lawrence played in the 2004 NCAA Frozen Four and fell to No. 2 Harvard, a team UConn will welcome to Storrs on December 8. Harvard lost to Minnesota in the National Title game by a score of 6-2.
UConn will open up Hockey East action on October 22 when they travel to Durham, NH to take on New Hampshire. The Huskies will look to qualify for the 2005 Hockey East Tournament after finishing only four points short last season.
The Huskies will also travel to Minnesota State, Princeton, Brown and Mercyhurst during the campaign. All four of those teams finished the season rated in the RPI's top-12.
Following the Mercyhurst contest on January 9, the Huskies' final 16 games will be played against Hockey East opponents as the league rivals gear up for the Hockey East Tournament on March 11-13.
UConn finished the 2003-04 season with an overall mark of 9-19-6, 5-11-4 in Hockey East action.
