Huskies Swept by Yale in Spring Season Opener

NEW HAVEN, CT (Feb. 3) The University of Connecticut women's tennis team suffered defeat in their opening match of the spring season, losing 7-0 at Yale on Tuesday afternoon.
UConn's No. 1 doubles team of Whitney Simcik and Alison Adamski were defeated by the Yale duo of and by a score of 8-2. The Huskies' No. 2 doubles team of Barbara Schumsky and Ashley Petruzzi fared the best of the three pairs, winning four games but ultimately losing 8-4.
The Bulldogs proved to a strong team in singles as well, solidly defeating all six players from UConn in straight sets.
The Huskies will be looking to rebound with a win when they travel to Dartmouth for a dual match on Saturday, February 14.
