Men's Golf Finishes Eighth In Spring Opener

NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (Feb. 24) – The University of Connecticut’s men’s golf team placed eighth out of 12 schools competing at the Charleston Southern Spring Kick Off Tournament, held Monday and Tuesday at the par-71 Coosaw Creek Country Club in North Charleston, S.C. The Huskies finished with a three-round score of 942 (+90). The host Buccaneers won the tournament with a score of 890 (+22).
Justin Ciombor led the way for UConn, tying for 25th place with a 233 (+20). Jordan Burke and Daniel Keefe tied each other for 34th place with identical tallies of 236 (+23). Keefe turned in UConn’s low round for the tournament, shooting a 73 in Monday’s morning round. Dan White tied for 42nd with a 241 (+28) and Mike Murphy tied for 54th with a 249 (+36) to round out the Husky participants.
UConn will return to action on March 11 when the team heads to Port St. Lucie, Florida for the Treasure Coast WTC Hero’s Classic.
