Men's Golf Places Fifth of 14 at Mulekicker Classic

WEST POINT, N.Y. (October 3, 2004) - For the third time in its three tournaments this fall, the University of Connecticut men’s golf team finished fifth, this time in a field of 14 teams at the Mulekicker Classic, hosted by the United States Military Academy. UConn shot a 594 for two rounds at the par-70 West Point Golf Club. Central Connecticut won the event with a tally of 582.
Making his UConn debut, A.J. Siekierski was the Huskies’ top golfer, tying for ninth overall with a matching pair of 73s, good for a total of 146. Brian Travalja was UConn’s second finisher while making his Husky debut as well. Travalja shot a 149 to tie for 21st. Jason Parajeckas and Jordan Burke were both part of a tie for 27th place with their scores of 150. Mike Murphy tied for 40th overall with his 152.
The Huskies return to action on October 9-10 when the travel to Yale for the MacDonald Cup.
