Simcik, LoRusso Compete at ITA Regional Championships

PHILADELPHIA (Oct. 26) - Whitney Simcik and Jen LoRusso of the University of Connecticut women's tennis team competed in the 2004 Wilson/ITA Regional Women's Tennis Championship hosted by the University of Pennsylvania on Oct. 23-26.
Simcik and LoRusso paired up to qualify for the main doubles draw. The duo defeated Altinay/Kushnirovich of Binghampton 8-3 to advance to the round of 16. There they fell by a score of 8-4 to 11th-seed Koulbitskaya/Mitchell of Penn.
Simcik also qualified for the main singles draw, where she had a match against Ashley Kroh of Marshall. Simcik lost the match 6-0, 6-1 and did not advance.
