Men's Golf Wins Inaugural Quinnipiac Bobcat Invitational

WALLINGFORD, Conn. (October 22, 2004) - Jordan Burke was the individual medalist as the University of Connecticut men's golf team won its second event in less than a week, besting four other teams to win the inaugural Quinnipiac Bobcat Invitational, held on Oct. 22 at The Farms Country Club in Wallingford, Conn. UConn shot a 305 to easily top Sacred Heart (313), Quinnipiac (322), Fairfield (325) and Boston University (327).
Burke was one-under for the day with his 70, finishing four strokes ahead of second place finisher Patrick Fillian of Sacred Heart. Geoffrey Reilert was tied for fifth overall, and second for UConn, with his 77. Dan White tied for seventh overall with a 78, while Mike Murphy was the fourth different Husky to finish in the top 10, tying for 10th with his 80. A.J. Siekierski shot an 87 to tie for 22nd.
UConn wraps up its fall schedule Oct. 25-26 when it travels to Galloway, N.J. for the John MacDonald Classic, hosted by Temple.
