Boston College Blanks Mens Soccer, 2-0

STORRS, Conn. (Oct. 20) – The University of Connecticut fell 2-0 to Boston College in BIG EAST men’s soccer action Wednesday night at Morrone Stadium. The Huskies drop to 7-5-2 overall, 3-2-1 in conference play, while the Eagles improve to 10-3-0, 6-3-0 in the BIG EAST.
Pat Haggerty began the scoring for Boston College on a pass from Johann Helgason in the 25th minute, ending UConn goalkeeper Adam Schuerman’s (Brookfield, Wis.) shutout streak at 198 minutes.
B.C. then added an insurance goal at 83:45 as Mario Nicholas connected on a feed from Charles Davies and Uri Magen-David, making it a 2-0 game.
Connecticut had several quality scoring attempts, but Eagles goalkeeper Issey Maholo managed to stop all three of the Huskies’ shots on goal. Boston College outshot UConn 10-5 and the Huskies led 7-3 in corner kicks.
UConn returns to action on Saturday, October 23rd, when it travels to Seton Hall for a match at 1:00 p.m.
