Huskies Win 10th-Consecutive New England Title

BOSTON, MA (March 1) - The University of Connecticut men’s track and field team held strong to its New England title, capturing the 10th-consecutive championship this weekend at Boston University. The Huskies completed the weekend with 166 points, an impressive 82 points ahead of second place finisher UMass-Lowell.
UConn picked up three more first place finishes in the second day of competition, highlighted by the runners. Jason Williams finished first in the 55-meter dash. Joe Mendel (Wayne, NJ) ran to first place in the 400-meter race and Joel Legare (Holden, MA) rounded out the first place finishes with a win in the 800-meter run.
The Huskies continue the season at the IC4A Championships in Boston, MA on March 8 and 9.
