Huskies Seeded No. 6 in BIG EAST Tournament;

STORRS, CT (November 2) – The University of Connecticut men’s soccer team will be the No. 6 seed in the 2003 BIG EAST Tournament, and will face No. 3 Notre Dame. The game will be played in South Bend, IN, on Sunday, November 9 at 1:00 pm at Alumni Field.
Connecticut currently holds an 8-7-3 record, and is 5-3-2 in the BIG EAST Conference. The Huskies are led by rookie Steve Sealy (St. James, Trinidad), who has scored five goals and three assists for 13 points, including three game-winners. He is followed by senior Cesar Cuellar (Santa Cruz, Bolivia), who has notched four goals and three assists for 11 points. Adam Schuerman (Brookfield, WI) has been the mainstay in the Husky goal, playing in 15 games for 1422-minutes. He holds a 1.01 goals against average and has a record of 8-5-2 overall.
The Huskies will be making their ninth consecutive tournament appearances, 19th overall, dating back to 1982. UConn has made the most BIG EAST Tournament appearances, with Seton Hall close behind with 17 berths. Connecticut has missed only three BIG EAST Tournaments, from 1992-1994.
