Three Huskies Named to the All-BIG EAST Team

VERNON, CT (November 14) – Three member of the University of Connecticut men’s soccer team garnered 2003 BIG EAST postseason honors at the annual BIG EAST Championship banquet on Thursday evening. Senior Lindon Pecorelli (LaCrescenta, CA) and freshman Steve Sealy (St. James, Trinidad) were named to the All-BIG EAST Second Team, while sophomore Mpho Moloi (Soweto, South Africa) was named to the All-BIG EAST Third Team.
Pecorelli has been the mainstay in the Husky midfield during the 2003 campaign. Playing in 19 games, making 18 starts, he notched two goals and five assists for nine points. Last year, he was named to the 2002 BIG EAST Third Team.
Sealy, a forward for Connecticut, leads the team in scoring with five goals and three assists for 13 points. Having played and started in all 19 games, Sealy also added three game-winning goals, and was a two-time BIG EAST Rookie of the Week this season.
Also a midfielder, Moloi is a stable component to the midfield line. He has started and played in all 19 contests for UConn in 2003, having scored one goal.
Connecticut awaits its fate for the 2003 NCAA Tournament, when the pairings will be announced on Monday, November 17 at 3:30 pm on ESPN News.
