Men's Golf Finishes Fifth At Temple In Fall Finale

GALLOWAY, NJ (Oct. 28) – The University of Connecticut’s men’s golf team placed fifth out of 11 schools competing in the John MacDonald Classic on Monday and Tuesday at the par-71 Galloway National Golf Club in an event hosted by Temple. UConn shot a 633 (+65), 20 strokes behind tournament champion Loyola (MD)’s 613 (+45). Playing their final fall event, the Huskies finished ahead of fellow BIG EAST Conference member Seton Hall at the MacDonald Classic, ending the fall with a 6-3 head-to-head mark against BIG EAST teams after not beating any BIG EAST foes all of last fall.
Jeff Stebbins had his finest showing as a Husky this fall by leading the team, and tying for eighth overall, by shooting a 154 (+12). Jordan Burke tied for 16th with a 158 (+16) to also finish in the top 20 overall. Clint Hyland tied for 25th overall with a 160 (+18) while Jason Parajeckas tied for 29th with a 162 (+20) and Mike Murphy rounded out the UConn competitors with a 163 (+21) that tied for 32nd place.
