Cochrane Named Co-Offensive Player of the Week

PROVIDENCE, RI (Sept. 3, 2002)-- University of Connecticut senior Kelly Cochrane (Scarsdale, NY) was named Co-Offensive Player of the Week by the BIG EAST on Tuesday after leading the UConn field hockey team to a 1-1 weekend.
Cochrane factored in all four goals of a UConn, 4-1, victory over Vermont on Sunday and was named to the 2002 UConn Husky Classic All-Tournament team for her efforts. The midfielder scored two goals and added two assists to lead the BIG EAST and the Huskies in scoring after the first week of play.
The Huskies return to action on Friday, Sept. 6, when they host Penn State at 7 p.m. under the lights of the George J. Sherman Family-Sports Complex.
