UConn Wins Second Straight Dual

KINGSTON, RI (Sept. 26, 2002) - The University of Connecticut women’s tennis team won its second straight dual, 7-0, Wednesday night Sept. 25, over Rhode Island. UConn won all six singles matches and two of three doubles for their second straight victory.
The Huskies were led by sophomore Whitney Simcik (Exeter, PA) and seniors April Dixon (Palm Beach Gardens, FL) and Colleen Connors (Ormond Beach, FL). Simcik won her No.1 singles match and teamed with Jessica Shea (Beverly, MA) to win at No. 3 doubles. Dixon and Connors teamed to win at No. 2 doubles and then won their singles matches at No. 5 and No. 6 respectively.
The Huskies return to action on Wednesday, Oct. 25, when they host UMass at 3:00 pm, at the UConn Tennis Courts.
