Individual Huskies Earn All-ECAC Honors

CENTERVILLE, MA (March 15) – Freshmen Kim Berry (Haverhill, MA), Caitlin Salazer-Reid (London, Ontario) and Laura Stosky (Edmonton, Alberta) were all named to the ECAC All-Rookie Team as announced by the league’s office on Thursday evening. The awards mark the first-ever postseason accolades in the UConn women’s ice hockey program history.
Berry, also named to the ECAC Honorable Mention Team, led the Huskies in scoring all season and was nationally ranked in several categories. She netted 23 goals and 13 assists for 36 points including a team-leading seven power play, four game winning and three short-handed goals. Currently, she is tied for ninth in goals scored, tied for seventh for power play goals and tied for first in short-handed goals scored.
Salazer-Reid and Stosky helped to anchor an UConn defense that held opponents to 2.9 goals per game. Salazer-Reid notched two goals and 13 assists for 15 points, including two power play and one game-winning goal. Stosky scored five goals and assisted on 10 others for 15 total points.
Red-Shirt freshman Julie Marashio (Wayland, MA) was named to the ECAC All-Academic Team.
The Huskies completed their second season as a Division I squad and first season as part of the ECAC Eastern League. UConn, which earned it first-ever postseason berth, fell to New Hampshire, 4-1, in a quarterfinal game of the ECAC Eastern League Championship on March 9. UConn ended the season with a record of 11-21-3 overall, 7-12-3 in the ECAC.
