Huskies to Meet Top Seeded Mercyhurst in MAAC Semifinal Game

STORRS, CT (March 13) -- The 2001-2002 University of Connecticut men’s ice hockey team will face the No. 1 seed Mercyhurst College in a semifinal game of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Tournament on Thursday, March 14 at 4:00 pm at the Hart Center in Worcester, MA.
Connecticut advanced after upsetting No. 3 Holy Cross, 6-5, on Saturday afternoon in a quarterfinal match-up. UConn, the No. 6 seed, earned its fourth straight MAAC Tournament berth after compiling a regular season record of 12-15-7 overall, 11-10-5 in the conference.
The winner of Thursday’s game will advance to the Championship game of the 2002 MAAC Tournament on Saturday, March 16 at 12 noon at the Hart Center in Worcester.
