Shannon Connolly (Baldwinsville, NY) notched the goal on assists from Stefanie Snow (Bedford, BH) and Caitlin Salazar-Reid (London, Ontario).
Meagan Aarts tied the score again for the Black Bear’s at the 3:50 mark of the middle period. Just under a minute later, Kim Berry (Haverhill, MA) came from behind the Black Bear’s net shot the puck through Maine goalie Lara Smart’s legs for her team leading 22nd goal.
UConn held off Maine through most of the third period, preserving the one goal lead. Maine pulled Smart with a minute left in regulation. With the extra man on the ice, Jamie Hill flicked in the game–tying nod off an Aarts shot from the point with under a second remaining on the game clock.
