Hazelton Leaves Team

STORRS, CONNECTICUT-- University of Connecticut sophomore forward Scott Hazelton (Somerville, MA) has left the basketball program, it was announced by Head Coach Jim Calhoun Tuesday afternoon.
“Scott came to see me in my office this morning and told me he needed to talk about something,” said Calhoun. “At that time, he informed me that he has decided to withdraw from the University and leave the basketball program at the conclusion of the final exam period.” The fall semester final exam period concludes Friday.
“We wish Scott the best in whatever he decides to do in the future,” concluded Calhoun.
Hazelton appeared in 42 games in his Husky career, averaging 2.5 points and 1.7 rebounds. He had seen action in five games in 2002-03, averaging 12.0 minutes per game, 4.6 points and 2.0 rebounds.
There is no further comment from Coach Calhoun or any member of the basketball program at this time.
