Murphy Earns Player of the Week Honors

STORRS, CT (Nov. 4) – Sophomore goaltender Shannon Murphy (Mapleville, RI) was awarded the Hockey East Defensive Player of the Week honors as chosen by league officials Monday afternoon.
Murphy posted back-to-back shutout victories in an away-and-home series with Quinnipiac. Totaling 40 saves in the two games, she stopped 14 shots on seven power plays to lead the Huskies to their first two wins of the season.
Connecticut will travel to Matthews Arena in Boston, MA to take on Northeastern in a Hockey East game on Saturday, November 9 at 2:00 pm.
