Huskies Shut Out Quinnipiac, 4-0

NORTHFORD, CT (Nov. 1) – Sophomore Angie Wallace (Mullett Lake, MI) scored two goals, including the game-winner, to pull the Huskies past Quinnipiac, 4-0 on Friday evening at the Northford Ice Pavilion.
After a scoreless first period, Wallace netted the game winner off the rebound to score her first goal of the season. In the first two periods, UConn out-shot the Bobcats, 28-13, but were only able to score once.
In the third, the Huskies scored on another rebound play as Mel Courtemanche stopped a shot by Megan McLeod (Livonia, MI), but was unable to save the rebound, sent in by Caitlin Salazer-Reid (London, Ontario). Just under 10 minutes later, Stefanie Snow (Nashua, NH) scored unassisted from the left side to put the Huskies up, 3-0. Wallace added another goal at the 12:46 mark to seal the win for Connecticut.
Shannon Murphy (Mapleville, RI) recorded her first win of the season, stopping 18 for the Huskies. Courtemanche took home the loss but notched 36 saves.
UConn will play host to the Bobcats on Saturday, November 2 at the UConn Ice Arena at 7 p.m.
