Piscataway, NJ (Oct. 11) – The University of Connecticut women’s soccer team notched its eighth straight win on Friday evening, shutting out Rutgers, 2-0, on Yurcak Field. Graczyk’s goal came in the 61st minute of play from Sarah Popper (Penn Yan, NY). Popper sent the ball up the left side and Graczyk placed the ball to the lower right corner to give the Huskies an edge. Rookie Brittany Barakat (Arlington, TX), scored the second for the Huskies on a rebound.
Both teams sent 15 shots toward the net. Yatrakis was forced to make eight saves as she recorded her second shutout of the season. Christine Caldwell was able to stop seven for Rutgers in the loss.
