Freshman Signees Join Team for Fall Season

STORRS, CONNECTICUT (Aug. 16, 2001) -- After signing letters of intent last spring, four freshman will be joining the Husky softball team for its 2001 Fall season.

Jessica Gurney (Williamstown, Mass.), Amanda Schettini (Coxsackie, N.Y.), Danielle Grasso (Trumbull, Conn.), and Jackie Lawson (Springfield, Pa.) will look to fill spots at pitcher, shortstop and infield, respectively.

The Huskies gear up for their Fall season with an Alumni game on Sept. 8, then travel to Binghamton, N.Y., for a tournament before playing host to two 12-team tournaments in Vernon, Conn., on back-to-back weekends in September.
