UConn sophomore Ricky Gross (Nanuet, NY) won the 110 meter high hurdles with a time of 14.69. Freshman Chris Mazza (Toms River, NJ) won the pole vault at 16' and freshman John Barth (Wakefield, RI) was first in the hammer throw at 172'6".
The UConn 4x100 meter relay team was first at 48.32 and the Husky 4x400 meter relay team also placed first with a time of 3:19.99.
Other top performances for UConn included: Greg Santiago (Brentwood, NY) second in the 400 meter intermediate hurdles (57.67); freshman Luke Thayer (Wakefield, RI) second in the hammer throw (162'9"); Chris North third in the javelin (171'3"); freshman Chris Charles (Park Ridge, NJ) third in the 200 meter run (22.06) and tied for fourth in the 100 meter run (10.79) with teammate Laban Marsh (Erie, PA).
