Pusey Leads Huskies at Florida International Golden Panther Invitational

Corey Pusey (Jr, Vernon, CT) led the way with a one-two-three individual outing as he won the discus with a mark of 167’2”, was the runner-up in the hammer throw (182’ 2”) and took third in the shot put (52’ 2”). Along with Pusey, Paul Pisano (Fr., Toms River, NJ) won the javelin as he turned in a distance of 198’7”, while Chris Mazza (Fr., Toms River, NJ) also turned in a strong effort finishing second in the pole vault clearing a bar set at 15’ 0”.
UConn’s outdoor season gets into full swing when the Huskies host their first of two April home meets on the seventh. Boston College, Central Connecticut State, UMass and Rhode Island will be on hand in Storrs, CT, to comprise the field of competition.
