UConn Places 18th at Ironwood Intercollegiate

GREENVILLE, NC -- University of Connecticut men’s golf team shot a three-day team score of 960 to finish 18th at the Ironwood Intercollegiate at the Ironwood Golf Course in Greenville, NC, on Tuesday afternoon. Georgia Southern won the team competition shooting an 897, placing three golfers in the top 18, on the par-72, 7,049 yard course.
Medalist honors went to Justin Kolumber (Georgia Southern), who shot a four-under 68 on day two, and led the field with a three-day score of 218. Overall for UConn, Kevin O’Connor (East Lyme, CT) paced the Huskies tying for 64th with a three-day total of 237. John Humphreys (Niantic, CT) turned in UConn’s best performance on the final day carding a 76 to lead the squad.
The Huskies will compete next at the University of San Diego in San Diego, CA, on Monday and Tuesday, March 19-20.
