Men's Ice Hockey Shut Out by Canisius

STORRS, Conn. -- Canisius College shutout the University of
Connecticut men's ice hockey team 2-0 at the Buffalo State
Sports Arena in Buffalo, NY on Saturday evening in a Metro
Atlantic Athletic Conference match-up. The loss drops
UConn (10-16-4, 10-9-3) to fifth place in the conference
standings, while Canisius (13-10-3, 11-8-3) moves into the
fourth place.
Corey Lucas scored the game-winning goal at the 14:27 mark of the first period with assists from Marc Bouffard and Kyle Allen. Bouffard then added an insurance tally with less than four minutes remaining in regulation with help from Lucas and Chris Duggan.
Jason Carey (Oakdale, MN) suffered the loss in net stopping 23 shots on goal, while Stephen Fabiilli received the shutout recording 20 saves.
UConn will travel to AIC on Friday, February 23 for a game slated to begin at 7:00 p.m. in Springfield, MA.
