Johnson Earns MAAC Player of the Week Honors

EDISON, NJ (November 26) – Senior Anders Johnson (North Kingston, RI) of the University of Connecticut men’s ice hockey team was named the Itech/MAAC Player of the Week by the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference office Monday afternoon.
Johnson netted one goal and two assists in UConn’s 1-0-1 conference week. He scored Connecticut’s first goal to tie the score at one in the Huskies 2-2 tie against Army on Friday night. He also assisted on the Huskies second goal, sending a pass across the mouth of the goal to set up UConn’s second game-tying goal of the game. On Sunday, Johnson assisted on the game-winner to lift UConn past Quinnipiac, 3-2.
Connecticut will host Canisius College in a MAAC match-up on Friday, November 30 at 7:30 p.m. at the UConn Ice Arena.
