Men's Basketball Signs Rashad Anderson and Denham Brown

STORRS, CONNECTICUT-- The following is a listing of the University of Connecticut Men’s Basketball Letter of Intent Signees, as of Sunday, November 18, 2001, including key statistics and comments from Head Basketball Coach Jim Calhoun.
Rashad Anderson, 6-4, G/F, Lakeland, FL, Kathleen HS-- Averaged 24 points, seven rebounds and four assists as a junior... Led team to the Florida State Championship as a junior.

"Rashad is a versatile player who will make an immediate offensive impact on our team. As we viewed other kids during the recruiting process, it was clear that Rashad is one of the top offensive players in this senior class. We look forward to him bringing his skills and winning attitude to Connecticut and think that he has the potential to become the next outstanding wing player in the UConn Basketball program."
"Rashad comes from a highly successful and well-respected state championship high school program and has learned under the tutelage of a tremendous coach in Drew Taylor. We know he will be a terrific addition to our basketball family."
Denham Brown, 6-5, F, Toronto, Canada, West Hill Collegiate-- Averaged 30 points and six rebounds per game as a junior at Bathurst Heights HS in Toronto, leading the squad to the semifinals of the provincial championships... Transferred to West Hill Collegiate for his senior season after Bathurst Heights closed.
