Three Huskies Named to Regional All-American Team

STORRS, CT (November 13, 2001) - Three University of Connecticut field hockey players were named to the 2001 STX/NFHCA Division I Regional All-American Team.
Senior Megan Ware (Latham, NY), who was a pre-season All-BIG EAST selection and named to the first team All-BIG EAST this season was named to the Mideast Region First Team. Ware played and started in all 17 UConn games this season while scoring three goals and tallying three assists at the forward/midfielder position.
Freshman Lauren Henderson (Avondale Harare, Zimbabwe) and junior Kelly Stolle (Warren, CT) were both named to the Mideast Region Second Team. Henderson led the BIG EAST in goals and points all season and was named to the All-BIG EAST First Team. She also led the Huskies with 15 goals and eight assists for 38 points while starting all 17 games. Stolle scored six goals for the Huskies while tallying eight assists. She was named to the All-BIG EAST Second Team.
