Huskies Fall to Bemidji 2-0

BEMIDJI, MN (October 26) – The University of Connecticut men’s ice hockey team fell to Bemidji State University by a score of 2-0 at the John S. Glas Fieldhouse on Saturday evening in Bemidji, MN. The Huskies, who suffered a 9-0 loss last night to the Beavers, drops their record to 0-2-1 on the season, while Bemidji improves to 3-3-0 overall.
Bemidji’s Jeff McGill recorded his third goal of the weekend at the 10:48 mark of the first period to put the Beavers’ in front for the remainder of the game. The two teams played scoreless through the second period. Connecticut pulled its goalie late in the third stanza to rally for the tying goal. BSU’s Bryce Methven nailed a shot into the empty net with 18-seconds remaining in regulation for the insurance goal.
UConn’s Artie Imbriano (Stoneham, MA) played the entire game recording 26 saves in net. The Beavers’ Dannie Morgan earned the start in goal stopping 16 shots. BSU outshot UConn 28-16.
UConn will travel to Springfield, MA on Friday, November 2 to take AIC in a MAAC match-up.
