BEMIDJI, MN (October 26) – Bemidji State University scored nine goals to shutout the University of Connecticut men’s ice hockey team at the John S. Glas Fieldhouse in Bemidji, MN on Friday night. With the loss, the Huskies are winless dropping their record to 0-2-1 on the young season, while Bemidji improves to 2-3-0.
Andrew Murray and Jeff McGill led the Beavers’ with two goals and one assist apiece. Marty Goulet also added three assists for Bemidji State.
UConn’s Jason Carey (Oakdale, MN) and Paul Morrissey (Winchester, MA) shared time in net for a combined 40 saves, while BSU’s goalie Grady Hunt played the entire game making 13 saves in net for the shutout. Bemidji outshot UConn, 49-13.
The Huskies return to the ice again at Bemidji State University tomorrow night in Bemidji, MN.
