Henderson Tabbed BIG EAST Co-Offensive Player of the Week

PROVIDENCE, RI (October 22, 2001) -- After leading the University of Connecticut field hockey team to wins over No. 18 Northeastern and Boston University, freshman forward (Avondale Harare, Zimbabwe) was named BIG EAST Co-Offensive Player of the Week, as announced by the conference Monday. Henderson shares the honor with junior Kristin Aronowicz of Syracuse.
Henderson notched a goal in each contest last week, increasing her team-leading tally to 13 for the season. She now has 31 points this season, a tally which ranks first in the BIG EAST Conference. Henderson also co-leads the conference in goals with Aronowicz.
The honor was Henderson’s first of the season. Junior (Warren, CT) was tabbed Co-Offensive Player of the Week for September 3 while junior goalkeeper (Red Hook, NJ) claimed Co-Defensive Player of the Week honors for UConn on October 8.
The Huskies’ next game is this Wednesday, October 24, at 4 p.m. against Fairfield in Storrs, CT.
