BOSTON, MA (Oct. 25, 2000) The University of Connecticut womens soccer team handed No. 11 Harvard a 1-0 loss in Boston, MA on Wednesday, Oct. 25. With the win UConn improves to 13-5-2 while Harvard falls to 10-4.
UConns game-winning goal came at the 24:30 mark as Jen Carlson (Shelburne, VT) directed a cornerkick to Lauren Naida (Suffield, CT) outside the box. Naida controlled the ball and then fired a shot to the left post, beating Harvard goalkeeper, Cheryl Guenther.
Goalkeeper Maria Yatrakis (Brooklyn, NY) had three saves in the shutout while Guenther made five stops.
The Huskies return to action on Sunday, Oct. 29 when they host a BIG EAST tournament quarterfinal game at Morrone Stadium in Storrs. The game is slated for 1 p.m.
