Dartmouth Downs Women's Soccer, 4-2

Storrs, CT - Dartmouth College used two goals and an assist from Jessica Post to defeat the women's soccer team by a score of 4-2 on a rain-drenched Morrone Stadium in Storrs on Oct. 18. The non-conference loss drops the Huskies to 12-5-1 while Dartmouth improves to 9-3-0.

The Big Green scored first at 24:05 when Devon Haskell blasted a save past Connecticut keeper Shanna Caldwell (Williamsburg, VA), who entered for injured starter Maria Yatrakis (Brooklyn, NY) at the 7:50 mark. The rest of the scoring was in the second half, as Jessica Post had two scores and assisted on a third goal by Katie Price. Jen Carlson (Shelburne, VT) scored for the Huskies, heading in a crossing pass from junior Mary-Frances Monroe (East Northport, NY) at the 63:49 mark. The other Connecticut goal was by sophomore Leena Kovanen (Helsinki, Finland) with less than a minute and a half remaining. The goal was assisted by junior Mary Beth Bowie (Dartmouth, Nova Scotia) and sophomore Sarah Popper (Penn Yan, NY).

The Huskies rerturn to action on Oct. 21 when they host #1 Notre Dame in a BIG EAST non-divisional conference battle scheduled to begin at 7:00 p.m. at Morrone Stadium in Storrs.
