Sydney Cotto joined the UConn Sports Medicine staff in the spring of 2025 as an assistant athletic trainer for the field hockey and track & field programs. Â
Sydney comes to UConn after working at the United States Coast Guard Academy in New London, Conn., where she worked with their football, track & field, swim & dive and women’s lacrosse programs. Prior to working at USCGA, she worked for Select Physical Therapy in Waterbury, Conn., rotating coverage between multiple high schools in the area.Â
Sydney completed her M.S. in athletic training from Merrimack College in May 2020. She is also a UConn alumna, having completed her undergraduate studies at the university with an individualized major in athletic performance and wellness in Dec. 2017.Â
Sydney is a native of Naugatuck, Conn. and currently resides in Norwich, Conn.Â
