John Donlon completed his third season as Director of Soccer Administration for the men’s soccer team in 2018. His duties are focused on operational tasks including; team travel, team budget, organizing, fundraising events, group tickets, etc.
Donlon’s efforts helped aid the Huskies to an average attendance of 3,822, ranking second nationally in average attendance for the second consecutive season. The Huskies also posted second in total attendance, drawing 38,225.
In 2015, Donlon was the Director of Soccer Quality Control for the Huskies and helped UConn reach the NCAA Tournament for the 17th time in the last 18 seasons. The Huskies ranked second in country in average attendance in 2015, drawing 3,504 fans per game to Morrone Stadium
Donlon concluded his fifth season as head manager for the team in 2014. In his previous role, he served as the primary communications contact for the Goal Patrol as well as worked with opponent scouting reports and videos. Additionally, Donlon oversaw the hiring of student managers for both the spring and fall seasons.
In addition to his work in Storrs, Donlon serves as the Northeast United Youth Director and head coach for their 2004 boys and 2003 girls teams. Also he is the head coach for the U12 Connecticut Boys ODP team and currently holds a USSF National "C" License, NSCAA Director of Coaching Diploma, NSCAA Foundations of Coaching Diploma and NSCAA Goalkeeper Level I Diploma.
