Before UConn: Hastings joins the Huskies from Heritage High School in Lynchburg, Virginia and South Central High School in Winterville, N.C. During her four seasons she was Seminole District Second Team Utility, and Second Team Outfielder. The outfielder was a team captain and set a Jared Hardin Camp record in the 40-yard dash and home-to-home time. The speedster ran indoor and outdoor track while also playing volleyball in high school. On the track, Hastings was Multi- All District, All region and 2x state champion. She also was a two-time National Qualifier in the Emerging Elite High Jump and Freshman Triple Jump. While competing as a three-sport athlete, she was also named to the National Honor Society.
