2019-20 (Senior Season): After injury plagued sophomore and junior seasons, returned to play a career-high 32 games his senior year…Finished with six points coming on three goals and three assists…Scored three goals on 20 shots (.150)…Blocked nine shots defensively…Had his first goal of the season in a 6-4 win at home over Miami (Nov. 29)…Scored in a home loss to Merrimack (Jan. 7)…Put the icing on a 6-1 win at Boston University (Feb. 22) with his third goal of the season to sweep the Terriers.
2018-19 (Junior Season): Appeared in nine games…Season cut short due to an injury…Generated a total of nine shots on goal.
2017-18 (Sophomore Season): Appeared in 10 games… Finished the season with two points coming on one goal and one assist… Generated nine shots on goal… Missed time due to an injury… Collected his two points in back-to-back games against Vermont (Nov. 3 & 4).
2016-17 (Freshman Season): Played in 24 games his rookie season...Finished with three points on a goal and two assists...Ended the year with a +1 rating in 24 games...Had five blocked shots...Generated 21 shots on goal...Scored his first career goal in a 4-2 upset at No. 6 Notre Dame (Oct. 27)...Had an assist in a 3-2 upset win at No. 3 UMass Lowell (Dec. 2)...Notched an assist in the regular season finale, a 4-2 win over New Hampshire (Feb. 25).
Before UConn: Howell played last season with the Des Moines Buccaneers of the USHL after a standout high school career at St. Paul Johnson High School in St. Paul, Minnesota...Appeared in 55 games for the Buccaneers last season, scoring 24 points on 13 goals and 11 assists...He was eighth on the team in scoring and fifth in goals...In his three varsity seasons at Johnson Senior High under head coach Steve “Moose” Younghans, he increased his point totals each season and finished with 75 points in his career...As a senior, he captained the team and scored 13 goals with 11 assists for 33 points, leading the team in all three categories...He was a two-time all-conference player...Also was a member of the school’s golf team.
