Sohl Earns BIG EAST Freshman of the Week Honors

NEW YORK - UConn volleyball setter Isabella Sohl has been named BIG EAST Freshman of the Week following a standout weekend at the East Coast Challenge, the conference announced Monday.
Sohl helped the Huskies to a 2-1 record at the East Coast Challenge, recording back-to-back sweeps of New Hampshire and FDU before UConn fell to Yale, 3-1, on Sunday.
The Columbia, Missouri native totaled six kills, 84 assists, two service aces, 24 digs and four block assists across the three matches. She averaged 8.40 assists per set, recording 29 assists against both New Hampshire and FDU before adding 26 assists against Yale.
Sohl also contributed offensively throughout the weekend, recording two kills against New Hampshire, one against FDU and three against Yale. Defensively, she tallied seven digs against New Hampshire, 11 against FDU and six against Yale.
Through all matches this season, Sohl leads UConn with 311 assists and ranks third on the team with 69 digs. She currently ranks third in the BIG EAST in assists.
The Huskies return to action Sept. 18, opening the "For the White and Blue" Tournament at the UConn Volleyball Center.
