Huskies Announce Series with Southern Miss & Full 2026 Schedule

STORRS, CT – The UConn football program has entered into an agreement to play two future games against Southern Miss starting with the 2026 season. This will mark the first-ever match-ups between the two programs.
The announcement of this season's road game with Southern Miss completes the 2026 UConn football schedule. The Huskies have five road games this season starting with a trip to M.M. Roberts Stadium in Hattiesburg, MS on Saturday, September 19 to face the Golden Eagles for the first of three match-ups against teams from the Sun Belt Conference this season. UConn and Southern Miss are scheduled for a return match-up at The Rent during the 2029 season.
UConn are on the road at Miami (OH) for a match-up on Saturday, September 26 in what is the first-ever meeting between the Huskies and the Red Hawks.
The Huskies will head to Temple on Saturday, October 10 to take on the Owls. This will mark the 22nd meeting all-time between the two programs dating back to 1963. The last time the Huskies and Owls met was a in 2024 in East Hartford, a thrilling 29-20 UConn win.
The final two road games of the season see the Huskies head to a pair of Mountain West opponents in Air Force on Saturday, October 31 and at Wyoming on Saturday, November 28. UConn and Air Force met for the first time last fall, a 26-16 Husky victory at home. UConn last met Wyoming during the 2021 season, hosting the Cowboys at The Rent and falling 24-22.
The 2026 season kicks off a new era under head coach Jason Candle, as the Huskies open their campaign on Saturday, September 5 hosting the Lafayette Leopards in the first of seven previously announced home games at Pratt & Whitney Stadium at Rentschler Field.
