STORRS, CT - UConn linebacker Bryun Parham (Long Beach, CA) is the recipient of this week's New England Football Writers Association Gold Helmet Award presented by the Jack Grinold/Eastern Massachusetts Chapter of the National Football Foundation. Parham is the third Husky to take home the honor this season, joining quarterback Joe Fagnano (Williamsport, PA) and wide receiver Skyler Bell (Bronx, NY).
Parham played a key role in the Huskies remaining unbeaten at home this season with a 37-34 win over Duke on Saturday. Parham finished with a career-high 16 tackles, a sack, an interception and a forced fumble to help UConn take down Blue Devils to improve to 7-3 and 5-0 at Pratt & Whitney Stadium at Rentschler Field.
Parham recorded a first quarter interception that led to a UConn field goal. With UConn taking the lead 37-34 with 1:56 left in the game, Parham had the key play to seal the win for the Huskies. With Duke driving late, Parham broke free on a 2nd-and-5 play and got a strip-sack on the Duke quarterback with UConn recovering with 0:18 left to seal the Huskies' win.
On the season, Parhman has 96 total tackles to rank fourth in the country and 10.5 sacks, ranking third in total sacks, and seventh in sacks per game (1.05).
He and the Huskies will play their final home game of the 2025 season next Saturday, November 15 when they face the Air Force Falcons.
