Serah Williams Named to Leslie Award Watch List

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – UConn women's basketball senior Serah Williams was named to the 20-player watch list for the 2026 Lisa Leslie Award, as announced by the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame and the Women's Basketball Coaches Association Friday.
The Lisa Leslie Award, now in its ninth year, recognizes the top centers in Division I women's college basketball. It is named after the three-time All-American, 1994 National Player of the Year, and Class of 2015 Hall of Famer.
Williams transferred to UConn after playing three seasons at Wisconsin. She was a two-time All-Big Ten First Team and Big Ten All-Defensive Team selection and the 2024 Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year. As a junior, Williams averaged 19.2 points and 9.8 rebounds per game.
Graduate student Azzi Fudd is on the watch list for the Ann Meyers Drysdale Award (shooting guard) while redshirt senior Caroline Ducharme is on the watch list for the Cheryl Miller Award (small forward) and sophomore Sarah Strong is on the watch list for the Katrina McClain Award (power forward).
Fan voting for the Naismith Starting Five awards begins today.
The top-ranked Huskies open the season next Tuesday against No. 20 Louisville in the Armed Forces Classic at the U.S. Naval Academy. The game will air on ESPN at 5 p.m.
